This is a page I put together so that everyone would be able to access a number of different other websites that offer interesting background relevant to leaders throughout history. This is a great place that can serve as a supplement to my lectures and your book, and you shouldn't hesitate to use these links as a resource for any essay assignments or discussions that we hold!


This part of the Smithsonian Museum website leads to a collection of pictures for every president that has held office in the United States. Click the pictures to get short summaries and quotes on any president that catches your interest.


This part of the BBC news website is a special history section focusing specifically on the leadership of Adolf Hitler. It offers a number of videos and short clips on how he led the German people and what made him an effective leader despite the dark and evil direction he took his country in.


This section of the BBC calls attention to a number of the most important emperors that ruled the ancient Roman Empire. By clicking the images of the busts (facial statues) for each respective emperor, you can access an explanation of what made each emperor a great and effective leader for his time. BBC has special sections on British, modern, colonial leaders, and more that's definitely worth looking through the website for!


This page of the History Channel's website offers a detailed background piece on George Washington's life. It talks about his time as president in addition to what made him such a memorable leader. It's worth noting that this website is also a great tool for finding information on many different leaders from all time periods.
